Dragon Sons Phoenix Daughters follows three children from vastly different backgrounds on their quest to fulfill their parents' increasingly high expectations. Jack is a boarder at a professional golf school for children. His father's dream is that Jack not only be as good as he can be, but better than the rest. In between studies, young Zhan Qiang opens beers at his parents' restaurant. He dreams of one day becoming a CEO, but first he must make it through his end of year exams. For 13-year-old Liu Na, who has over two dozen academic awards to her name, this year's migrant school academic competition is a chance for her to prove her worth to her reserved father, who makes no secret of having wanted a boy instead of a girl.
